The town
Wellington is the quieter neighbour of Paarl, with farm and barn venues on the way to Bainskloof Pass. Couples choose it for privacy, space and lower prices, and for venues that let you bring your own suppliers.
It depends on the size of the wedding and what is included, and most suppliers quote per wedding rather than publishing a rate card. Send the same brief (date, venue, guest count, hours needed) to three or four suppliers and compare what each quote includes, including VAT and travel.
Many suppliers are based in Stellenbosch, Paarl or Cape Town and include the main Winelands towns in their standard price. Tulbagh and venues far outside town often carry a travel fee, and some suppliers add accommodation if the wedding finishes late. Ask for the travel fee in writing before you book.
Peak season runs from about November to April, and the best-known suppliers are often booked 9 to 12 months ahead for Saturdays in that window. Weekday and winter dates are easier to get at shorter notice. Book as soon as your venue is confirmed.
Some do, especially florists, caterers and bands, and the minimum is sometimes higher on peak-season Saturdays. If you are planning a small wedding, say so in your first enquiry and ask whether a smaller package exists.
Send an enquiry from any listing page with your date, venue and guest count. It goes straight to the supplier and they reply to you directly.
